1983 Ford Flair ASC concept

Looks like the child of a Fox Thunderbird and a 3rd-gen Camaro that's somehow also the cousin of an Alpine A310.

It has a bit of Fiero in there, too.

fairly blatant rip of the Daytona/Laser front end. (note to self, remind me when Iacocca went over to Chrysler? and brought out K-based Daytona/Laser... )
Escort steelies suggest FWD... probably an early Ford EXP prototype.
slat in front of rear tire suggest slight possibility of Fiero competitor as a mid-engined econo-runabout.

Iacocca became chairman of Chrysler Corp. in 1979, however Fox-based Mustang designs predated that transition, which likely informed both the Flair concept, and Chrysler’s Charger, Daytona, and Plymouth Laser designs.
1984 Daytona and Laser look a LOT like that Flair concept, and all three likely intended to be FWD and cheaper to produce than the RWD alternatives.
And a LOT like Fox Mustang and 3rd Gen F-body Camaro and Firebird in general... Rear-drive Mitsubishi Conquest, and Chrysler Starion look similar as well.
Double sealed-beam headlights in a chiseled nose was pretty much the only way to go in the early 80s, other than pop-ups, before plastic custom-formed headlights became DOT approved.

Fun piece of info:
My uncle penned the original Daytona design, sent it to Dodge, but failed to patent it. A few years later the Daytona was unveiled and he got nothing.

Really? The rear quarters look very Fiero to me.
